Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to make an approach to the concept of leadership today. Throughout the paper we will deal with different aspects of leadership, but with more emphasis on the person, ie the leader. To do this, we will analyze the issue from different perspectives, studying the more theoretical side, and then making a practical approach, from surveys and interviews with different people. Leadership involves functions like planning, provide information, evaluate, arbitrate, control reward, encourage, punish, so that these tasks will help the group achieve its objectives, meet their needs.

Leadership

Leadership can be defined as "the process of influencing the activities in relation to the functions of the members of a group."

It can also be defined as the process of planning, organizing, directing, control and influence the activities of members of the group related to the activities to achieve a specific goal.

The first systematic effort of psychologists and other researchers to understand the leadership was an attempt to identify the characteristics of leaders. This conception of leadership (leaders are born, not made) still enjoys wide acceptance (although not among the researchers).

In search of leadership traits, the researchers adopted two respects: 1) tried to find the traits of those who emerged as leaders with those who did, 2) attempted to compare the characteristics of effective and ineffective leaders.

The generality of the studies devoted to the leadership belongs to the first category, and these studies have failed to discover the traits that distinguish a clear and consistent leader and followers. The leading group is slightly higher, brighter, more outgoing and self-confident. However millions of people have these features and most of them never occupied a leadership position.

According to studies, Leadership is not restricted to any particular domain but can be employed in all business fields. It is necessary to focus on key factors of leadership methodologies and effectiveness to have maximum impact on the goals achievement.

There are various leadership frameworks that have presented a vast understanding of leadership concepts. These leadership theories which include behavioral theories, contingency theories, trait theories, and power and influential theories have a significant implication in different contexts. Each theory presents different leadership styles that differ in their practical benefits. Key benefit of leadership is realized by having a good knowledge base. The main objective of this paper is to discuss and compare three different leadership styles and assess the requirement and implication of each leadership style (Meese, & Ortmeier, 2004).

Different Styles of Leadership

Different leadership theorists have presented leadership styles that are arranged in dimensions based on control and autonomy given to employees. Style of leadership varies with the kind of leader deal with. Leadership styles that will be discussed in this paper include Autocratic Leadership Style, Participative Leadership Style, and Bureaucratic Leadership Style.
