Introduction

The aim of this assignment is to discuss Leadership and Organizational Behaviour in Apple Inc. Apple is an American multinational corporation that designs and produces software and electronic equipment. Apple now has 14 products covering the branches of computer, hardware, software and telephony. Apple was the innovator in personal computing over the last 30 years. With the advent of the iPhone and the iPad, Apple had the technological and commercial leadership in this area. Apple already had a dominant position in the market iPod. Apple stores have an innovative idea to reach the consumer. This is an incredible success. Steve Jobs was the co-founder of the company, and the genius mind behind the concept of being innovative and being different from the rest. He emphasized on the culture of thinking differently in the organization, in order to provide insanely great products to its customer base. Every time the company launches a new product, it exceeds the expectation level of its customers (Sivanathan, 2002).

Companies operate within highly dynamic scenarios subject to constant challenges, competitive products, new economic openings, changes generated in the technology, new product offerings, and consumer demand demanding satisfaction needs. This has given way to considering the impact that goes with regard to organizational behaviour or ensuring effective environment which guarantees a positive organizational climate, harmonious, and productive.

Apple Inc. has announced the new executive leadership team with a mix of senior vice-presidents and business leaders from an outside company. The action of Michael Apple's return as CEO and board restructured is to improve the company's financial performance since 2005. Due to internal organizational structure and a few layers of management, communication with customers has become more efficient. Apple begins to combine direct model concept with traditional distribution channels in order to reach more customers and organization levels in different regions.

Apple's success is the result of the managerial process of continuous innovation by setting clear and attainable goals. Steve Jobs ensured that the strategic goals relevant to the environment attained the primary focus of management, and they were adequately prioritized. In 2001, Steve Jobs instructed the senior management with a clear goal of creating a distinctive music player.



Leadership and Management Practices at Apple

A leader is a person who is responsible to manage the activities and take decisions of a certain team or group. He guides and directs his team, and makes them work accordingly. A leader consists of several different personality characteristics which influences the behaviour of the team members or employees.
