Abstract

The paper focuses over the leadership and governance trends of India and Serbia. India is famous for the leaders it has produced such as Akbar, Gandhi and Asoka. The paper has laid down the leadership skills of these leaders. The current leadership scenario of both the countries is also discussed. Leaders also play an important role in governance of any country. Hence the basic principles of governance and the current governance situation of both India and Serbia are discussed in detail. The empowerment of public administration, effective and independent judiciary, legislation and the rule of law plays a vital role for good governance of any country. The paper focuses over the changing trends and how the current governance systems can be improved in the provided countries.

Introduction

Leadership and governance plays a vital role in the development of the country. Leaders are made by the addition of different skills in the ordinary persons however leaders are not born. Leaders can e defined as a process by which a person guides and directs others and leads them towards success and growth. There are various skills required to be a successful leader. Leaders have got great fan following and they are praised by many people in their society and some time all over the world. Apart from leaders, good governance is also important for the growth and development of the country. There are various principals of the good governance that are to be followed accordingly to make the country grow and develop rapidly. Every organization has to play its role for the promotion of good governance which includes the state, civil society and private sector. This paper focuses over the leadership and governance of India and Serbia. The focus is made on the current and the past leaders of the respective countries that played a major role in the growth and development of the country. The current governance system of the countries is discussed and the changes required to make these systems more effective are also discussed in this paper.

Leadership in India

India is a country of great diversity. The country consists of regional, cultural and religious variations. Due to wide range of variations it becomes difficult to generalize about the leaders and organizations with in India. It also becomes difficult to define the leadership and organizational practices in Indian Organizations. Despite of the fact that there are a lot of languages in India and the culture and tradition vary a large. However, there is an overall unity of designs which make them one family. The cause of unity among the different civilizations with in India is primarily the social and economic organizations of the country and the other reason may be the emotional and intellectual attachments of the country (Low, 2013, p.141).
