Introduction

In this ever changing world of technology and knowledge, the health-care sectors face challenges of keeping up with technical competence and commitment with responsibilities regarding their professional expertise and performances. Roles for nurses are diversified and at each level of health services they constantly come in contact with people and organization. Therefore, leaders and managers in this industry are associated with one another by working for common goals and objectives. The skills reinforced by professionals in this industry require specialized education, its practical exhibition and controlled, suitable inferences. In this assay I will discuss the impact of communication and goal -oriented thinking and practice by leaders in nursing.

The word “Leadership” appear very inspiring and influential simultaneously to a person of ambitions, vision and motivations of variety for his occupational as well as personal life. There is no reason to believe that leaders are competitive and more focused on neutralizing the change occurring each day of new unstable and volatile difficulties. Leaders identify problematic factors, analyze them and resolve the issues. They have creative ideology of innovation, initiation and implementation to improve and modify already persuasive but erroneous rules and regulations. He/she sees the scenario from a broad based and investigated view of the whole problem at large. On the other hand, managers are in charge of maintaining and sustaining a designated path of discipline and work for their subordinates. They usually control the situations very well but are superficial in their inspirations and also lack passion and originality. They use systems assigned to solve disputes and already designed strategies to resolve conflict. They like to work in autonomy and basically focus on efficiencies and adequacies under their supervision on an individual level. They usually lay their focus on the course and alignment of processes rather than the outcome of the matter and its liabilities.

Effective communicative approach can result in better delivery of care and services. Communication skills play a very significant role in coming up with solutions of problems and conflict in general. Sometimes, complex changes arise where negotiation strategy and problem solving approach prove beneficial in order to get cost-effective care for the patients. The leader should keep friendly and good relationship with his subordinates and also is informed of their needs, feelings and challenges they face during work. A successful case management require clear and sound communication about purpose, process and potential barriers in team functioning and their goals.

Being a nurse is a demanding job, requiring hard work and enthusiasm in all areas of the field. Last month I along with my entire health-care team attended a board meeting sponsored by one of the active organization in US working its way to support care and revolutionize health services and their delivery.
