Introduction

The present study is about the leadership theory and the management style exist in the two most successful and prominent leader of the USA. These two leaders are the Bill Gates and the Oprah Winfrey. Bill Gates is famous as the founder and chairman of the Microsoft Corporation while Oprah Winfrey is known for the Global Media Leader. The leadership qualities possess by the Bill Gates is the introvert, aggressive, visionary, intelligent, and knowledgeable while the leadership qualities posses by the Oprah Winfrey are intelligence, self confidence, persistence, charisma and the excellent communicator.

Leadership and Management Styles

Leadership style is defined as the relationship among the leader and its followers for changing the outcomes of the organization. The leadership theories were started form the start of the great men and the trait theories and continue till the end of the transformational leadership. While management style is used for attracting the followers. The management style was defined as the style used by the leaders in order to manage the number of followers (Kennedy and Anderson, 2002, 545-559).

Leadership theories introduced in the past were great man theory, traits theory, situational theory, behavioral theory, contingency theory, charismatic leadership, team leadership etc. while the management theories introduced in the past were rational motivation theory, intrinsic and extrinsic theory, push and pull theory, self control theory and incentive theory etc (Kennedy and Anderson, 2002, 545-559).

Leadership and Motivational Style of Bill Gate and Oprah Winfrey

Bill gates leadership qualities are well knowledgeable, aggressive behavior, introvert personality, intelligent, have the vision, charismatic leader and Oprah leadership qualities are an excellent communicator, have self confident, intelligent, extrovert, persistence, determined (Westley and Mintzberg, 1989, 17-32).
