Introduction

Leaders are the individuals who command a particular group of individuals to achieve team goals. They utilizes their power and position to not only control the behavior of the individuals within the team, but also motivate them to get the work done in order to accomplish short and long term goals set by the team. Similarly, when discussing about the term Leadership; it involves all the activities to lead a group. It involves establishing a clear vision for the team, sharing the set vision with each of the members of the team, providing relevant information to each of the member and coordinating with each of the member to achieve the goals

Effective leadership plays a significant role in the success of the organization. They are required to utilize the available resources of the organization in the most efficient way possible to achieve maximum output, which can help in contributing to the profitability of the organization (Zaccaro, & Horn, 2003). Good leaders know how to utilize the human resources along with other resources to achieve the desired results. They are believed to be the inspirational members of their team who have the capability of convincing their subordinates that they can do the particular task and can achieve their goal successfully. One of the main tasks of leaders includes building and maintaining a strong relationship with their subordinates, which can help in managing their resources more effectively (James, 2011). Communication plays a significant role in the perspective of leadership. It is necessary that the message is communicated accurately to the person, while using the most appropriate communication medium.

Leadership is the phenomenon which is not only attached with the corporate world, but it is also very essential in everyday life of all the individuals. We all have the experience of facing situations where we do not find a right path or direction to move on, or we become confused in selecting a right path for ourselves, or even we are down and out with the losses we have suffered in our life (Pratt, 2007). There is always a person in our lives who guide us, motivate us, and teaches us how to select a best possible path for ourselves. They lead us to our destiny. They are the leaders, who know how we are feeling and what needs to be done to achieve individual goals.

Executive Summary

This paper is based on a personal experience that how individual journey is affected by the role of leadership. It will critically examine the effectiveness of my role being an authentic leader, and how I influenced the decisions of others through my leadership skills. The effectiveness of authentic leadership will also be supported by utilizing various models of leadership that how different models of leadership can be applied in various conditions to achieve the goals.
