Introduction

It has been observed within the last decade that the region of Asia has been growing exponentially. That can be described as juggernaut due to the fact that whatever happens in Asia is capable of affecting the rest of the world. Like Asian countries, organizations and industries undergo demographic, technological, social and economic changes over here the quality of leadership will be the vital key in reacting towards these challenges. There are a number of surveys related to the political leaders and CEOs about the basic challenges while securing their future, the significance of creating future leader is mentioned. Companies and countries with higher quality leaders will lead in making choice that will result in enabling them to respond and anticipate promptly towards changes. There are a number of methods that can help in figuring out what the means of having high-quality leaders who can react to exclusive challenges in Asia. While some of them gathered huge data to come up with evidence regarding the requirements of the Asian leaders that they needed to accomplish and learn, while some of created theories and principles that helped in defining the quality of the leadership. All of these started with the understanding of uniqueness related to Asia.

To understand the leadership within the Asian context we should first know their perception regarding leadership and management. Lee (1987) revealed the main idea behind it that was usually based on the assumptions of Western side. Since the theory of Western organization significantly depends on the Maslow's idea of offering advice to individuals on protecting self-esteem and achieving the self actualization. But when this similar idea is used in the non-Western context, it has the capability of misrepresenting the Asian understanding. There is a specific area of misunderstanding that has been studied known as Orientalism, that refers to the study of Eastern cultures and societies by the westerners usually depended on the European experience.

Challenges and Opportunities

The idea of paradox is intensely embedded in the Eastern philosophy, where the opposites are viewed the interdependent elements of a whole. With the help of the study Paradoxical themes came forward that was reflecting the ways through which the leaders and the organizations took the opportunities and challenges. There were three broader patterns that came forward:

Navigate the External Environment-all the organization that were studied demonstrated challenges that were brought in because of the external competitors, governments, stakeholders and in most of the cases all three of them.

Leading Internal Environment- enhancing an changing is required when capitalizing an opportunity, function, groups and individuals need to team up, align, and integrate effectively. The organizations and leaders are also searching for methods of innovating with the help of enhancement and expansion of their operations, products and services.
