The purpose of this draft is to highlight the Laser treatment hair removal procedures and consequences that an individual can face after going through it. The main aim of this critical assignment is to inform the reader about how improvement can take place in the field of dermatology in UAE specifically. The beauty salons and medical spas owners use this treatment so frequently without analyzing the fact that it would have harmful effects if not taken precautionary measures before. A professional and ethical standard is also compulsory due to the recent expansion of laser in medicine and cosmetic procedures. This increased use of laser has resulted in treatment complications. This rapid explosion has resulted in non-professionals, particularly non-physicians performing the procedure without supervision in medi spas and salons. An increasing number of practitioners are working without proper training or license. Patients are not adequately informed about the associated risks of laser treatment. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to review the effectiveness and associated risks of current practice in laser hair removal with respect to professional standards and safety practices and further to make adequate recommendations to the law enforcing authorities in U.A.E to establish clinical practice guidelines to help regulate the performance of laser hair removal and cosmetic procedures and to improve the competency and skills of non-physician operators.

I am currently working in primary health care with special interest in dermatology in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). The standard of health care is generally considered high in UAE and is divided into 2: primary and secondary health care services. Primary health care in the UAE has cosmetic services for hair removal only and if the patient seeks other cosmetic procedures he/she will be ...
