Value of Language

Since the dawn of humanity, man has had the need to communicate. Even in the absence of the words the exact training as currently, they emitted vowel sounds that demonstrated his view the physical world, but also expressed his feelings: hunger, fear, insecurity, sadness. Thus, the tongue (gem) is not the result of many years of research. The individual is born with this instinct and rational ability. It is the possession of language which more clearly distinguishes man from other beings (Berkes, 2000).

The Purpose of Language

Communication can be seen as a kind of cooperation, in which the participants have an interest in the successful outcome. As we have already pointed out, it may also constitute an engagement in which they apply various forms of pressure, promote their conception of the goals and means. Language also has the ability to represent not only content but also the ability to express emotions and attitudes allows expressing vague terms to express the hidden meaning and is also a means of suggestive effects. Language can be a source of confusion, deceit and self-deception. All of these features are available for the person who is able to cope with the language so that it is able to use his or deliberate abuse, and thus manipulation of other people in their favor (Carroll, 2004).

Importance of Language

In his novel, Orwell shows the frequent abuse of language by the media and government, he reveals that how the language can be utilized as an effective political tool to swindle and maneuver the people (Berkes, 2000). This will lead the society in which the citizens and people will unthinkingly and obediently follow the government and as reality unconsciously believe all the misinformation.
