Introduction

The world has become a global village and it is important to communicate. Communication may be possible with uniformity of language. There are different languages used around the globe. English is not the mother language to all the nations. To learn to understand and to communicate in a second language gives rise to multiple problems. Lot of research has been carried on the subject of communicating in a second language. The aim of the researcher is to comprehend the problem faced by individual in communicating in a second language and give possible solutions to such problem in most effective method. This paper is based upon how an individual communicate in a second language and what influence is on the individual from his first language.

Possible Problem

An individual while learning to speak in a second language tries to create a relation between first and the second language. This is a habit to combine the structure of two different languages. This highlights the influence of first language over the other. A most common terminology that is observed is interference as Dulay et al defined it in 1982. However this could create worst problems if the two languages have distinctively divergent.

Ellis also seconds this notion in 1997. As he argues to say that this influence helps an individual to understand the second language but the learning outcome vary from individual to individual depending upon the perception he carries as to what can be transferred and also upon the stage of development. Selinker suggested 1972 this interference was an effective way for second language speaker as it helped him to understand the language and integrate it into his daily life. This helped an individual to practice the language in its simplest nature and adapt to the nature of its requirement.
