The Royal Pier has remained one of the most well loved buildings in the area and holds many post war 'Mecca' hall memories of dance fans that flocked to the old Pavilion to dance away the hours during the Rock 'n' Roll era of the Fifties, followed by the Sixties to bands that played at the Pier.
