Reactions

The first level of evaluation measures the reactions of the participants while they are being introduced to the training. Below mentioned are some key evaluation elements

1. One to one interviews

2. Regular feedback3. Filling up the evaluating sheets4. Interactive sessions5. Use of inline trainings

Learning

Another important step that depicts the outcomes and tells what a participant has learned from the training. Evaluating this area is important in order to know the outcomes. As mentioned above this phase is a crucial phase and it conducts before the test and after the test. (Kirkpatrick's 1959).

Some key evaluation elements are

1. Feedback from managers, supervisors and individuals2. Tests - before and after training3. Analysis of various exercises and projects

Behavior

Along with reaction and learning, another crucial area is behavior. What so ever a participant is learning from various reactions, whether it is applicable, useful and essential for a job is being evaluated at the third level of evaluation. Some important questions are

1. What was new when trainees came back from a training session?

2. Did you feel new behavior of a trainee positive?3. What was the overall outcome of a job?4. What was the level of performance when a trainee applied new ways and methods in the work? 

5. Is the trainee confident enough to deliver the information to other people? 

Results

One of the important step of evaluation is none other than “results”. This phase evaluates the relationship between training and outcomes. Whether the training session was helpful and was it linked towards the positive outcomes of the organization. (Kirkpatrick's 1959).
