Sue Taylor Grafton (Louisville, Kentucky, April 24 of 1940) is a writer, American, author of detective novels. His best-known work is the series of mystery novels chronological. They known as "the alphabet novels." The stories take place in the fictional town of Santa Teresa, which can be based on the first city of residence of the author, Santa Barbara, California (Grafton chose the name Santa Teresa as a tribute to the author Ross Macdonald, who previously used this name as an alternative to Santa Barbara in his own novels).
All novels in the series written from the perspective of a Kinsey Millhone call a private investigator. His first book of the series is "A" is for Alibi, written in 1982, the year in which it occurs. The series continues with "B" is for Burglar, "C" is for Corpse, and so on through the alphabet. The time series is slower than the real, well, "Q" is for Quarry, for example, takes place in 1987, written in 2002. "S" is for Silence, published in December 2005 (Gulbransen, pp 45-78).
The daughter of novelist CW Grafton, Grafton graduated from the University of Louisville, where he earned a degree in English Literature.
