Shakespeare presented Lear facing many problems in his writings. The writing challenges the reader with the intensity, magnitude and sheer duration of pain. Along with the tragedies, Shakespeare has also presented moments of satisfactions and joys, before the onset of their misery for different characters. However, King Lear suffers problems, issues from the exact beginning. He attempted to escape such problems, but barely succeeded in achieving this objective. The author has presented him, and other people to avoid problems by hardening their hearts, devoting live to alleviate problems for others, origins of violence etc. In this play, death is the only way out for the King, as he could not find any other way to tackle the problem.
The objective of such writings and use of Language by Shakespeare are to emphasize that we human beings also suffer from various problems including poverty and cruelty. An individual may express him or herself loudly to express the severity of the situation. However, King Lear is very powerful, even after being translated from Japanese. It offers a different perspective from that of the ancient Britain (Adelman, Janet, pp. 55-78).
Lear depicts stories of two families that are caught up between cruelty, greed on one hand, while consolidation, on the other hand. Each family is cantered in an aging father, one an imperious near-tyrant, the other a gullible sensualist. They both see their children from distorted lens, turning to only the children who love them more. The other child is a source of ambition, lust and greed for these families.
