Movie Description

Kanyini is a documentary movie based on the aboriginal culture of Uluru located in the Central Australia. The movie tells about the life journey of Bob Randall and his people living in Uluru where they learnt the wisdom from their aboriginal grand parents living their life in the bushes for long time. The film has been directed by Michelle Hogan, written by Martin Lee and casted Bob Randall that plays central role describing the aboriginal culture of Australia. In the documentary movie, the guide Bob Randall, describing the culture of old people living in the Central Australia, explains that people from his race and culture have lead hard life that is very basic in its nature. The story of the documentary movie revolves around the clash of cultures that is adopted by the aboriginal people and the culture of White people mainly based on the materialistic factors of today's world. The word “Kanyini” came from the aboriginal language “Pitjantjatjara” which means “interconnectedness” for supporting, caring, protecting and nurturing others. The story mainly tells about the Australian history as to what happened to the indigenous people of Australia and takes into account the arrival of the white people and its affect on their race.

The story has been told without any bitterness about the white man and encourage the present generation of Australians to make efforts together for understanding, acknowledging, and redressing the wrong deeds of the past that happened with the aboriginal Australian race. The film has been documented in Uluru that is surrounded by extraordinary beauty where Bob Randall tells the story about the aboriginal people of Australia and their history. The guide Bob Randall tells about the dispossession of his people from the basic aspects of life that are Spirituality, Belief, System and Family and Land.

These basic aspects that are essential for life are very important for the individuals in order to survive in this world. Bob Randall has also given direct and clear details about the happenings of the past events that is differentiated within the movie by showing historical footage of black and white individuals. The footage shows the aboriginal people of Australia that are the real custodians of Australia living their life in a traditional manner with harmony and peace within their homeland.
