Hunger is the most unconformable feeling, almost everyone know how hunger feels like. According to United Nations, there are about 25000 people that die because of hunger and hunger related issues every day. Technically speaking there is plenty of food in the world for every individual. The main reason behind this hunger and deaths due to hunger is poverty. The main problem is that hungry people are trapped in severe poverty (Dellimore, 2000). There are some important facts about global poverty. There are about 3 billion people around the world that are living in less than $2.50 per day and more than 1.3 billion people are living in extreme poverty (less than $ 1.25 per day). According to UNICEF, there are more than one million people that do not have access to clean drinking water out of which 400 million are children. Moreover there are 870 million people that do not have enough food to eat (Redmond, 2012).
People die because they do not have enough money to buy food to nourish themselves. The cycle of poverty is continuous, for instance being constantly malnourished make people sick and weaker because of which their ability to work decreases which eventually makes them even poorer and hungrier. The cycle continues till the death of them and their family members. There are several causes of poverty; some of them are very basic causes (Dellimore, 2000).
