Case Description

The case is about Ms. Tooty who hired someone for killing her husband. This fact is not denied by Ms. Tooty that she hired someone to murder her husband. However, she claimed that she has done this because of the mental torture and torment that is affecting her for a long span of years due to the emotional cruelty and ill treatment by her husband.

The duration of Mr. and Ms. Tooty marriage is about 10 years and still they did not have any children. Mr. and Ms. Tooty belong from the middle class and at the time of the killing both were working. However, there are no proofs of the physical abuse and no record of the abuse done by Mr. Tooty on Ms. Tooty.

Jury in favor of Ms. Tooty

As there are eight jury members however four will be picked that will testify on behalf of the victim that Ms. Tooty is innocent and has done this due to mental pressure. The first jury member that is selected is Mr. K, who is an old retired steel worker and an age of 63 years. Mr. K been married for about 42 years and has one grandchild and three children.

Mr. K is very energetic in the public organization. He will understand the viewpoint of Ms. Tooty as he can realize that if the husband becomes cruel than the relation of husband and wife becomes difficult to handle and sustain (Greene, & Heilbrun, 2013). Second jury member is Ms. R who is a college student with an age of 21 years and is studying physics.

When she was young her parents were divorced and she lives in a student housing. She will support Ms. Tooty as she knows the difficulties and mistreatments between the husband and wife due to the suffering of her parents. The third jury member will be Ms. Y, a grandmother of 72 years of age. She was a school teacher of a middle school and was married to her husband for about 50 years. She is living on her pension and believes in the innocence of the people. She will testify the innocence of Ms. Tooty because she knows the perceptive among wife and husband and if anyone is unkind or brutal than such kind of consequences are expected.

The fourth and last jury member in the favor of Ms. Tooty will be Dr. Z father of four children and 62 years old. He has recently lost his wife due to breast cancer and is teaching for the past 32 years at a local community college (Myers, & Arena, 2001). He can understand the pain of Ms. Tooty because he knows the value, respect and affection for a wife and mistreatment with wife will hurt her. He knows best that if the husband becomes brutal and vicious then the wife has to take some major steps to overcome the cruelty.
