Introduction

Renaissance period marks the time in history which holds immense importance and is known as 'Middle Ages' or 'Medieval' times. As per the classical believe, Renaissance draws it roots from the land of Italy and tend to registers itself in history as 'Italian Renaissance'. It was the period, which started in the 15th century as the medieval times saw its end and spread to the rest of Europe, as it gained popularity. This period often remembered in history in terms of crafting the connection of the west with classical remains of the times preceding it. This era instigated its root after the end of Hundred Years war, and the fall of Byzantine Empire. This period is also important in the context of the history because it remembered Europe as the rising society in every context whether it was commerce, science or any other discipline. This period saw many changes, but as per the requirements of this paper the focus would be on the impacts it had on Art. This paper would try to highlight the Renaissance period in the context of sculptures, paintings, literature or any other form of art.

Art in Renaissance period

It is considered as the most adequate period as far as the development of art is concerned, this was the period in which art flourished not in one dimension but multiple dimensions whether it was the field of music, sculpture, architecture or painting. This period also saw some of the very influential names in the field of art emerge all of a sudden, whether it was Masaccio, who gave paintings a new dimension, or it was Donatello who once and for all changed the meaning, of sculpture or the brilliance of Brunelleschi who interpreted architecture in a different context. However, this period brought science and art close to each other, which was an achievement of this period since the era's preceding it were unable to do this.

Since, art and science inculcated in this period; therefore, the experts of both the fields drew the world closer for the supremacy of the physical world over spiritual world (autocww.colorado.edu). This period brought the scientific perspective with it, which enabled the artists to compose, draw or paint the subjects closer to the grey area known as 'illusion'. This era saw the rise of the three-dimensional structure which was previously achieved through experiential path. However, this paper intends to focus tightly on the Judeo-Christian art during the Renaissance period. It is very important to study both the sections separately, and not together since both of these religions have differing interpretations, and does not share the same interpretations. Therefore, it is important to study both of them separately in order to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.
