The Women Warrior is a compilation of Maxine Hong Kingston's (1989) autobiography, so it is theoretically an effort of true-life. But the writer is cautious never to cite her name in the storyline. Being part of the first age group of Chinese Americans, author mentions her struggling efforts to differentiate her culture individuality throughout a neutral study of her aunt's deprived subsistence.
