John Locke TheorY

Introduction John Locke was a British educator and philosopher. He was the representative of empiricism and liberalism. He contributed towards the spread of sensationalism. His ideas influenced the epistemology and political philosophy development. He is one of the most influential Enlightenment thinkers and theorists of liberalism. His letters made an impact on Voltaire, Rousseau, many Scottish enlightenment thinkers, and American revolutionaries. Locke is famous for the construction of theories and philosophies. Locke was the first philosopher who expressed his personality through continuity of consciousness. He postulated mind as a clean state he argued that human beings born without innate ideas. According to James Secord, John Newbery asked educational advices from John Locke to legitimize the new genus that represented children's literature. He was born on 29th August, 1632 in the west of England. He was the son of a provincial lawyer. He enrolled in Westminster School, and he got his bachelor's degree from Oxford University. He was actively attached to political activity and began to create Message of tolerance. Locke elected a member of the Royal Society. His areas of interest were natural science, medicine, politics, economics, education, State's attitude towards the church, religious tolerance and freedom of conscience. In late eighteen century, the influence of John Locke's

thoughts on education is widely recognized. In 1772, James Whit church wrote that John Locke is an author to whom the scholars have always recognized their immense debt, and whose name cannot be mentioned without a secret veneration. He was a religious man, always safeguarded faith on reason rather than scriptural authority. He performed the leading role in surfacing of Britain's gentlemanly religion. He decided to make a thorough study on the cognitive abilities of the human mind. His own of the main works was on the human understanding Essay Concerning Human Understanding he worked for 16 years on this study. Locke worked in different government offices in England. Locke involved in the broad scientific and literary activities with his government service. He died from asthma on 28th October, 1704. His life time achievements are letters on toleration published in 1689, an Essay on Human Understanding published in 1690, second Treatise on Civil Rule published in 1690, and some thoughts on parenting published in 1693.Literature review One of the works done by john Locke was on the thoughts on Education. It is a treaty of Education which had written, in 1693, by the British philosopher John Locke. His work had translated into many languages during the eighteen century. Many European authors like Jean-Jacques Rousseau had also acknowledged his works. Thoughts on education remained a

bestseller book. During the eighteen century, the book had at least 53 editions, including 25 English, 16 French, six Italian, three German, two Dutch, and one in Sweden. The statements and thoughts given by also mentioned in novels such as Pamela or Virtue rewarded in 1740 by Samuel Richardson. Many theoretical bases formed from john's thoughts on education of children. After the publication, of Thoughts on Education, Etienne Bonnet de, Condillac, and Claude Adrien Helvetius adopt the idea that people's minds are shaped by their experiences and education.
