Comparison between Japan Education system and American Education System

Introduction

Japan education system is better than American education system due to centralized education policy of Japan and homogenous educational level of Japan as compared to American education policy. A great difference between Japanese education system and American Education system is the American respects independence and the Japanese control individual responsibility by observing the group rules. Japan educational system totally relies on national curriculum and ministry of education creates this educational curriculum (Sugimoto, 2010).

Educational System in Japan

The period of compulsory education in Japan is nine years; including six years correspond to primary school (6 to 12 years) and three years of lower secondary school (12 to 15 years). Before entering primary school, most children go to kindergarten or day care. Upon graduation from junior high school, you have several options. You can continue to higher secondary education and then pursue university studies. Or continue at technical institutions / vocational learning offer special or practical training for certain professions (Ibp Usa, 2011).
