Introduction

This paper discusses the key components related to areas of expertise that are important and necessary to IT project. The project I have chosen for this assignment is Project Management System. This paper includes objective of this project, project's environment, general management of the project and, the necessary interpersonal skills to manage this project.

Objectives of This Project

Basically, project management is possible even without a special software application. Especially at a high level of project complexity, many stakeholders and integration into enterprise systems (ERP, accounting, document management system, etc.) project management system software can provide a valuable service (Rahmandad & Hu, 2010). At the market, a number of providers of project management system software have been established. Some software solutions are industry specific.

After their functionality and purpose, different types of software can be distinguished, that are used in project management. It is functionally equivalent to PM applications often used only for certain sub-disciplines of the PM, such as scheduling. Larger packages cover several PM-or all aspects of the PM from integrated. House developments are typically used only for isolated aspects; otherwise solutions are used by the software market.

Project's Environment

Project management system is tool enabling all project stakeholders to study the scenario or setting within which a project is to take place. 'Scanning the Business Environment' in which it explains four main variables that affect the state of a project. These are the Political, Economic, Social and Technical scenarios of the project. A start to finish of the project will be effectively and efficiently done if these four variables are analyzed beforehand.

Political: Political factors for the implementation of the project can be that there should be no restriction for the use of the project an organization is going implement. This is the external politics that should be analyzed before the implementation. Secondly an organization should also seek for the internal politics that includes the management, stakeholders' etc. views while implementing a new IT project (Cooper, Lyneis et al, 2002).

Economic: Economics factors for a project can be that it's monetary return value. It is obvious that the organization is implementing a project for their benefits and economic factors are necessary to be evaluated before the implementation of the project.

Social: The neighborhoods or locality along with the stakeholders affect the progress of the project. Will the project be beneficial to the public or will it cause public hazard? A prospective ...
