Holograms

Abstract

The paper attempts to present the concept of holograms in a holistic context. The hologram technology is a method by which objects can be mapped in three dimensions. The essay begins with introducing the hologram technology, a brief history, its current position and what role this technology can play in societal development in future. The paper also discusses the drawbacks of the technology. Finally, the essay concludes with acknowledging the fact that hologram technology, if exploited in appropriate manner can be proven beneficial for society, however it is important to consider and minimize the drawbacks of the technology.

Holograms

Introduction

The paper attempts to present the concept of holograms in a holistic context. The hologram technology is a method by which objects can be mapped in three dimensions. A hologram is thus the three-dimensional rendering of a particular motif (Toal, 2011). As a hologram refers to recordings that are prepared using a special light so that, finally, a three-dimensional image of the original image is created (Semenova, 2002). This paper discusses the basic essentiality of the technology of hologram.

Components of Stated technology

A hologram is a three-dimensional image recorded by means of laser beams on a particular sensitive emulsion (Mrak, 2010; Ting-Chung, 2010). Processed and lit properly, the image in three dimensions as well, appears out of its boundaries, outward and / or inward from its frame, changing perspective as the viewer's position, is so amazing, it's hard to resist touching (Semenova, 2002).

There are basically two types of holograms, called transmission, visible when illuminated from behind and with the reflection light from the same side of the observer. These spectacular features make it the ideal medium for many applications, commercial, industrial and advertising, and are also a great means of expression and artistic creation (Bullinger, 2009; Yo-Sung, 2011).

Holography is a technique of producing special three-dimensional pictures of an object, for utilizing a laser beam. Actually a hologram contains information about the shape of an object than a simple photography, allowing relief to see it. Furthermore, by varying the position of the observer can get different perspectives holographed Object (Mrak, 2010).

Hologram - A Physical Perspective

A portion of the light is reflected at the point, shown as a white circle. Only the reflected light is represented clockwise. These spherical waves away from the point and are added to the plane waves that illuminate the scene. In places where the crests coincide with peaks and valleys with valleys will peak amplitude (Toal, 2011; Ting-Chung, 2010). Symmetrically, where peaks coincide with valleys and valleys with amplitude peaks will be minimal. There are places in space where the amplitude is always high and always places where the amplitude is minimal (Yo-Sung, 2011; Comprehensive Nanoscience and Technology, Five-Volume Set, 2010).

The surface of photosensitive dot located on the site of the image is the most exposed where the amplitude is maximum and least exposed sites where the amplitude is minimal. After appropriate treatment, the most exposed areas become more transparent and less exposed areas more ...
