Information Technology

Management, development and usage of computer based information systems to communicate, store and retrieving information is called information technology. The term 'information technology' was first used in an article published by Harvard Business Review. It was initially used in only big organizations and companies. In early sixties there were few who were aware to the extent of the modernization of information technology and its system. But with in early eighties, the term was widely used in homes and offices alike. And by 21st century, everyone knew about information technology and its wonders. In every developed country and many under developed countries, information technology is used in the form of personal computers, laptops, palm tops, cell phones and many such devices are also being invented which are based upon the complexities, diversity and advancement of information technology. It must be kept in mind that technology can produce defined results (MacDonald E. & Rowland D., 2000, pp. 15).
