Introduction

Human resource defined as the total skills, talent, aptitudes, abilities, and knowledge of an organization's work force and value approaches of an individual involved in routine interaction of organization. Human resources create diversified and multidimensional environment. People could no longer work or live in an insular marketplace; they all are part of globalization and global competition. Organization needs to move towards diversification and openness. Managing and dealing with this diversified workforce seemed to be difficult. On these bases, Human Resource Management becomes inherent part of management (Mathis, Jackson, 2010).

Human resource management faces difficulties in recruiting and selecting employees. Human resources come from different backgrounds, managing those people and bringing to one path is the most difficult job for management. The issue emerging in globalization is diversity in the workplace. Organizations are expanding their businesses across the globe. These organizations wanted to recruit diversified workforce from a different part of the world.

Diversified workforce enables different skills, knowledge, and abilities to the organization but at the same time, it becomes difficult to manage them. Employees from a different culture, religion, ethnics, gender, and age think different and create conflict. The diversified workforce becomes efficient and effective when they aligned together (Sims, 2007).

Diversity sometimes leads to discrimination but at the same time become important. It becomes important for the organization to selection right person at right job. This could be only possible when management selection criteria depends on a person's skill, abilities, and knowledge regardless of his/her religion, race, ethnic background, age, or gender. Organization cannot bear discrimination in the selection of employees if it wants to achieve its goals. It could only focus on the capabilities and aptitude of a person.

Discussion

Diversity at workplace becomes an emerging issue for human resource management. Diversity provides different valuable, employees from different backgrounds. Simultaneously, it creates trouble for management to blend these employees together. The issue has taken attention at the workplace and management focuses to resolve these issues. The employers started putting their efforts to resolve these issues.

Diversity issue could be related to race, gender, training, culture, age, religion, personal habits, experience, physical appearance, nationality, competency, sexual orientation, disabilities, and job title of an individual.

Diversification issues are highlighted and give consideration for future betterment. Diversity should be used positively because; it results in greater productivity and competitive advantage. Working women created diversity in the organization; this phenomenon should also be considered that diversity in gender generates problems (Koonce, 2001).

Restructuring Organization

In past few decades, organizations changed due to their recruiting and selection procedures. The workforce sometimes outsourced or imported.
