Islamophobia Affects Young Muslims

Introduction

It is a fact that there are certain negative consequences of Islamophobia on young men aged 18 years in tower hamlets. They have to face certain type of discrimination and racism attitude because of their religion Islam. These types of discriminating attitudes exist in western world. In this paper, I will define the term Islamophobia and also its consequences on the young Muslims in tower hamlets. I will state the demographic of Muslims in tower hamlets and also will discuss problems related to young Muslims in tower hamlets. In order to elaborate the consequences of Islamophobia I will discuss theories and literature review related to it and the role of media in spreading the term Islamophobia. This paper will also cover Runnymede project and Chris Allen's book on Islamophobia. There is a big need to discuss the origins of Islamophobia and also its history. This will make reader understand the magnitude of hate and fear attach with the term Islamophobia. This will also assist the readers to know the reasons behind this fear.

Literature review

The term Islamophobia can be defined as feat that western world has against the Islam and Muslims. It is superfluous and baseless culture or environments of fear against Muslims and Islam.

Islamophobia started in early 1900's. It is believed that it was started in bosnia, the Bosnian Genocide and Kosovo war, where innocent Muslims were massacred (Hussain & Rosenbaum, 2004, p.177). Further, it was started by Croat militias and Christians Serb.

It is a fact that the haltered feeling or confrontations between the west and the Muslims were also existed in ancient times and this confrontation is coming from history. Originally the confrontation started at the emergence of Islam. So the Islamophobia is not new term or new understanding. It is in heritance that has passed on to next generations. Over the period of time, the Islamophobia and western world become two distinct civilizations and both the civilizations are always at conflicting end with each other (Sharma, 2009, pp. 422). Historically, both the civilizations used to opposed each other and believe that each of them is superior to the others. Therefore, the confrontation has become the part of subconscious mind of the members of each society. In today's world, it is a fact that western world is more allergic to Islamophobia and used to take aggressive measures against Islam and Muslims. Thus, the fears which are lying in the subconscious mind are coming out and have become a deadly threat for Muslims (Sayyid et.al, 2011, pp. 375). However, the terminology came out in 1980's and get unnecessary attention which make it more popular.
