Introduction

Islam is the religion founded by the prophet Muhammad (570-632 AD), in 622, in Yathrib (now Medina, Saudi Arabia). The Arabic word Islam means "submission to God", and the followers of this religion are called Muslims. Muslims believe in one God, Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth and all they contain, they believe in the previous revelations and their sacred books.
