Introduction

Homosexuality was acknowledged as a mental disorder, and it is listed as in journals of psychology, until it was evacuated in 1973. Right up 'til the present time, there are those who still accept that homosexuality is not just a mental disorder. According to Barbara Blewster, a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints and the Arizona State Legislature was cited as colloquialism, “The prevention that follows homosexuality is savagery then afterward human sacrifice and savagery.” This is where moral and social problems of homosexuality come up. The moral situation runs from the aforementioned behavior that homosexuality is a sin and a cursed thing, to the disposition of other people who feel that those who contempt and segregate.

There is in the Bible, not once the words homosexual, lesbian or gay is used. All Bibles that employ these expressions are wrong and mistranslated. On the other hand, the biggest argument to prove that the Scriptures do not condemn love between people of the same gender is the fact that Jesus never spoke a word against homosexuals. The word homosexual was only created in 1869, bringing together two linguistic roots: Homo (from the Greek, meaning equal) and Sexual (Latin). Therefore, as the Bible was written between 2 and 4000 years ago, the sacred writers could not have used a word invented only in the last century. The practice of love between people of the same gender, however, is much older than the Bible itself. There are Egyptian documents 500 years before Abraham, revealing homosexual practices not only among men but also among gods Horus and Seth. According to the poet and writer Goethe, “homosexuality is as old as humanity”. Certainly, each time with a unique experience, but with the same target of desire: the same. In Christianity there are different perspectives on the subject of the homosexuality. The Christian sections change in their position, from censuring homosexual acts as sinful, through being partitioned on the issue, to seeing it as ethically satisfactory. Indeed, inside a category, people and gatherings might hold diverse views.

According to the most respected scholars of Scripture, the sin of Sodom is injustice and anti-hospitality, never homosexual rape. Proof of this is that all texts alluding to Sodom in the Old Testament attribute their destruction to other sins and not to homosexuality: lack of justice (Isaiah 1:10 and 3:9), adultery, lying, and lack of repentance (Jeremiah 23:14); pride, intemperance in food and idleness “for not helping the poor and needy” (Ezekiel 16:49); folly, insolence and lack of hospitality (Wisdom 10:8, 19, 14 , Ecclesiasticus, 16:8).
