The practice of nursing becomes significant through the terms art and science. The nature of the nursing practice can be easily understood through the concept of art and science, as both characteristics have a particular meaning. The comprehension of differences and similarities can be understand by the understanding the terms, art and science. There are the three major components for the art in nursing which include process, medium and product. The understanding of science will evaluate in this article, it consists of systematized knowledge. For the performance of nursing's mission, it is excellent to approach towards nursing's art and science. Experienced nurses portray a delicate balanced movement between art and science.

This paper is based on the frame work of nursing which includes that nursing is considered as both, science and art. Unity, relational understanding and a connection that grounds nursing and caring falls under the profession of nurse and its relation with patient. In order to keep care in nursing, nurses are often challenged with task oriented approaches. The maintenance of the art, concept and act of caring is always a challenging issue for the professional nurses as it strives to follow moral centre of the nursing profession. Through scientific research, theoretical concepts and conscious commitment to the art of nursing, a general concept for the application of art and science on nursing can be evaluated. During each interaction followed between nurse and patient, caring behavior is included through the purposeful efforts. The paper is focused on the discussion of nursing profession as an art or science.

Discussion

Nursing profession, with the growing population and people living longer, has become an urgent need around the world. The largest health care occupation is constituted by registered nurses. The nurses are offered with millions of jobs through this occupation. Even then, nurses are required in big numbers over different places such as schools, hospitals, community and nursing care facilities, etc. That's why, the statistic report for the population in 2020, conclude that the society will fall to nursing shortage by about 800,000. Attractive benefits and pay will be offered to those nurses due to demanding workforce.

The advertisements and commercials have also revealed that at these times, nursing will be one of the most needed profession, as, most commercials demand to study nursing. Even there also emails that are received which are focusing to highlight promotions in nursing career. The commercials reveal that this profession can help earn much money. But all that does not lie apart just with a good pay. Nursing must be loved and enjoyed in order to live with it as a profession.

The understanding of the art and science has proved that the role of the nurse has a privileged place in the doctor-patient relationship by both the time and its proximity to the patient.
