Implementation of the IOM Future of Nursing Report
In 2008, The Robert Wood Johnson Framework (RWJF) and the IOM launched a two-year effort to respond to the need to determine and convert the nursing profession. The IOM appointed the Panel on the RWJF Initiative on the Future of Nursing, at the IOM, with the objective of producing a review that would make suggestions for an action-oriented blueprint for the long run of nursing. Through its deliberations, the committee developed four key messages (Institute of Medicine, 2010):
Medical experts should exercise to the complete level of the amount and learning and exercising.
Medical experts should achieve higher levels to train and learning and exercising through an enhanced education and learning program that promotes smooth academic progression.
Medical experts should be complete associates, with health professionals and other medical experts, in renovating medical treatment in the United States.

The United States has the opportunity to convert its medical treatment program, and nursing staff can and should perform a fundamental part in this modification. However, the power to improve the present regulatory, business, and organizational states does not rest solely with nurses; government, businesses, medical treatment companies, expert associations, and the insurance industry all must be involved. Family interaction, these many diverse parties can help make sure that the medical treatment program provides smooth, affordable, excellent treatment that is accessible to all and leads to enhanced health outcomes (Sullivan, 2011).
Nurses and nursing companies must assume expert and authority responsibility to look at the committee's suggestions on helping the expert nurses' potential to sign up in the modification of our medical treatment program. As stated in the committee's review we need nursing staff across all configurations to be better educated and to work within and outside of their companies for safer, individual based, equitable, efficient and effective medical treatment for the American public (Sullivan, 2011).
New nursing staff coming into the area should search for opportunities to sign up in transitional programs that will assist in their adoption of evidenced based, effective medical treatment. Medical experts must embrace a commitment to life-long learning that contains dealing with consumers, health professionals and other health care experts as complete associates in the promotion of health, prevention of adverse events and the fostering of health program renovation across the continuum of treatment. The greatest demand for nursing treatment remains outside of intense treatment configurations. Individuals coming into the area should try to acquire knowledge, skills and experience to provide treatment across the life and configurations (Sullivan, 2011).
