Coordinate Investigations in a Government Agency

Introduction

The government agency which I have selected to discuss in this assignment is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). ABC or Australian Broadcasting Corporation is the national public broadcaster of Australia. It is state-funded, and television, radio and online services both at national and regional levels. ABC began radio broadcasting in 1932 as an association of twelve radio stations under the name Australian Broadcasting Commission, but changed its name to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1983. With a total budget of $ 1.18 billion per year, the corporation provides television, radio, Internet and mobile services in the metropolitan and regional stations in Australia and abroad through the Australia-Network and Radio Australia.

Discussion

Formation of Australian Broadcasting Corporation

Australian Broadcasting Corporation is a public broadcasting group Radio and television in Australia. The radio service began in 1923 and television began in 1956. The owner of the chain is the Government of Australia. However, ABC is not the only public broadcasting organization in Australia, because that status also has the channel multicultural Special Broadcasting Service (SBS).

In 1927 the government established the National Broadcasting Service (NBS). Finally on July 1 of 1932, Australian Broadcasting Commission came into existence, which carried out the NBS operations. During the following years there was a centralization of stations that despite maintaining local programming would now coordinated national programs.

This did not happen on the radio.

In 1983 the company changed its name, becoming Australian Broadcasting Corporation , which was restructured much of the functioning of the group until then, reaching triple domestic production in the following years. It also restructured the radio in 1985 when Radio 1 became the network of local stations and national network Radio 2. Radio Australia, international radio of Australia, was started in 1989.

Budget Problems at the beginning

In the decade of the 90 other significant events occur such as the creation of the department of media in 1995, ABC Radio News in 1996.
