Euclid was a musician, a poet, and a Mathematician born in 335B.C. There is an ambiguity in his birth place but most probability it was Greece. This great mathematician presented the geometry in his time as a logical system. His major work is a book name Elements is used as standard textbooks on the subject sown to modern times. Euclid died in 270 B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt (Hartshorne, 2000).
Early Life
The birth place of the great poet Euclid is unknown. This point out that so far very little knowledge has been gathered about the poet. It has been said that the great poet Euclid was from Greece. He completed his early education in Athens in the Academy which was established by Plato. The academy was most reputable and prestigious in terms of producing people with high calibre and aptitude. After completing his education, Euclid went to Alexandria and was appointed there as a faculty in the Museum. After serving sometime there, he became head librarian of the Museum. The period of the Euclid's life was very unique because in that period there were made numerous innovations in many subjects. It would be very difficult to analyze the circumstances because of the non availability of the complete knowledge about the great poet that time under which the great poet contributed towards the different disciplines. He came from a very noble and educated family background. He has done a great many works in the field of mathematics which greatly helped the people to further explore this field.
