My name is and I have been a part of WeGotYa Forensic Investigations for the past 7 years as a manager, and the purpose behind writing to you is to highlight some of the major findings of the Bright Designs Case. The case is presently one of the most trivial we've had to solve so far and having your input on how to proceed with this case will be highly appreciated. The background of the case is as follows; I received a call a few days back from John Smith, who is the CEO if Bright Designs a software development company found by DeeDee located in Ontario Canada. According to John some proprietary information has been stolen which can prove extremely harmful to the company if the technology is provided to the competitors. According to Smith the administrative assistant is his key suspect since he found some suspicious emails in her deleted items. The whereabouts of DeeDee are not known. I have been asked to look into the matter and identify the culprit behind the theft and prevent any misfortune from happening.
Identification
Above mentioned were how things were presented to me by John Smith, after conducting an interview with Smith and inspecting the location my observation and instinct tells me there's a lot more behind this then Smith has told us. Firstly DeeDee is a mysterious character, there are rumors going around that the company is struggling and the founder is missing, John Smith also appears to be suspicious. John Smith has no educational background or any prior experience that makes him suitable for the post of CEO the only reason he was appointed for this job was because he was a lifelong friend of DeeDee, he was also associated with all the charities DeeDee took part in and I personally find that a little too suspicious. Many of the employees objected DeeDee's decision to hire such an unsuitable candidate as CEO.
I personally consider DeeDee's sudden absence questionable. John also recently bought a Mercedes which would have cost him around $75,000 a massive amount for a newly appointed CEO. John also told me to visit him at night, in order to make sure the other employees had left and it was only me and him. I think he did this on purpose since he wanted to make sure I do not meet the other employees specifically the administration assistant who John has accused of stealing the laptop. Upon arrival he firstly easily entered the assistants office, he was also aware of the assistants password and username, he easily showed me two emails one was sent to a pawn shop asking about the sale of a laptop similar to the one missing, he also showed me another email that between the assistant and someone else who was asking for internal information at a price of $25,000.
There are certain factors that need to be brought to light firstly, Smith has access to the assistant's computer, and he has ...
