Classical Humanism

Humanism deals with the quality of being human. It covers the values, the thoughts, the codes of conduct the humans follow. Classical humanism as the name refers is the dealing of humanism dated back to ancient times, particularly to the middle age (14th to 16th century).

The Athenian Acropolis

Classical humanism refers an important part of the Greek civilization. When talking about Greek civilization, it becomes necessary to mention the renowned The Athenian Acropolis.

Acropolis is a Greek word, Acro means high, and Polis means city, therefore, this high city of great historic is located at the hill side in Athens, the capital of Greece. Here, one can find quite a number of notable temples having excellent construction styles and decorations. Some of them are Propylaea, the Parthenon, and the Erechtheum (Witcombe, n.d.).

The most exceptionally designed temple of The Athenian Acropolis, is the one build in honor of Athena, the patron goddess of Athens, it is called Parthenon. It is surely one of its own kinds. Christian Monasticism and Its Role in Sustaining European Civilization During The Early Middle Ages

Monks are the people who opt to live by themselves and have socially cut their selves off from the society. Christians started leading their life in solitude for the purpose of receiving the eternity of life, during the Roman Empire period. They are called as Christian monastic. The very first person who listed himself in this was St Paul.

Middle Ages is considered to be one of the most shaky era of human history. This era is of very significant importance since very notable Crusades and wars dates back in this historic period. The dominant development of European Civilization was carried out in the middle ages especially during the ages of Charlemagne to Peter Abelard (Anonymous,n.d.).

Charlemagne

Charlemagne was a renowned king of the middle ages and took interest in developing the civilization and introduced many worth mentioning educational reforms. He called in many philosophers and teachers from Ireland and other countries to his land for the purpose of prevailing educational reforms. With the intension of improving the learning means, he established various learning monasteries for the monks (Anonymous,n.d.).

Peter Abelard
