Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to provide an evaluation plan for an actual health or Social Program. The health program I have selected for the purpose of discussion is Florida Association of Healthy Start. Florida Association of Healthy Start has various programs and coalitions. Amongst the programs Florida Association of Healthy Start; I found Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV) very interesting and important to discuss. I have selected this program mainly because I find the program extremely well organized and committed towards promoting the health of pregnant women, infants and young babies. The following paper will discuss the mission of the organization; short and long term goals, measurable objectives and other important information. The purpose of this paper is to take a deeper look into the organizational mission and goals that serve as the basic context for the program.

About the MIECHV Program

The Florida Association of Healthy Start is a health care program initiated by the governor and first lady of Florida in 1991. Florida Association of Healthy Start is one of the most important organizations which take intense efforts to assure the quality health care provision to the pregnant women and infants. Children are the future of every society and therefore, MIECHV intends to focus towards securing the future of societies by promoting the health care of children. The health of children is impacted from the time they are in the bodies of their mothers; therefore MIECHV also focuses over the health and wellbeing of pregnant women. The program is funded federally. The basic aim of the program is to increase the use of evidence based home visiting medical services to the families in Florida.
