Experience of the Interview for me

This section is mainly concerned with the experience gained while conducting the interviews. While conducting the interview with the social workers I have gained a great experience. I have learnt how to take appointments and I learnt a complete process of interview conducting. This was though a difficult procedure, but I really enjoyed this procedure. While conducting interview, firstly I have found the list of thousands of social working agents. From this list I have selected the social working agents as per my needs. These social working agents were both from the public and private side but I had to choose from the public sector. This is the reason why I have chosen some specific social work agents. After developing the list, I have started calling to the social agents. These were totally 25 social agents and I started calling them (Alfred and Kadushin,1997). I did not find most of the social workers at one call; therefore, I had called the social worker agents twice or three times. In this process of calling I actually had made 70 calls. Though, this was a difficult procedure, but I had enjoyed and gained the knowledge about the ways through which an appointment was taken from the social worker agents. In these phone calls, I asked the social worker agents about helping and giving me an interview about the social worker practices of their agencies. I feel that it was a very good experience as I really enjoyed the experience of talking to a number of strangers and asking for help from them. Though, it was a bit tricky and problematic as I got irritated of the social workers because, an agent was not returning to my calls but it was also a good experience as I had to talk to different people. After calling to the social worker agents, I left my contact number but no social worker agent contacted me back. This was the reason, why I had to call them on regular basis. After receiving my calls, I requested them to help me for providing their help but they refused. After such a long procedure, I found one agent who has helped me for this purpose.

Work Description

I work at the Christian Guidance Center Facility within the Treatment department and the SAMHSA Program which provides rehabilitation and prevention services to substance abuse clients and Wayne County Jail Clients. I also co-facilitate with a group and individual therapy.
