Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to act as a university based consultant and present an intervention plan of how to increase the father's involvement within the school community. Teacher wants to include the staff without appearing to create more work for them.

Intervention Program Plan

Scenario

The school is a community based school named “William McConnaughy Catholic College”, and is a low fee paying private institution. School was formed in a shopping area where only three sections were there for school (Burke, 2007). Later on, the school planned to expand its building and it expanded its building on 9 hectares of land adjacent to the new housing estate. Later on in 2010, school also increased it enrolment and hired new teachers. In order to serve the local community, school will be taking enrolments from primary school aged children too until the opening of a new school.

Intervention Program Plan

The main purpose of this intervention program plan is to create a program which can help in increasing the involvement of fathers in the children's education.

Purpose

Evidences show that there is great importance of parent's involvement in the children's education and brings a positive difference.

Planning Process

In this planning process, I have gone through many stages. The stages I have undergone in this planning process are as follows:

Plan Formulation

In order to implement a plan for increasing the father's involvement in community school, the first step I adopted is plan formulation. The meaning of this step is that you formulate and develop a plan. In this step, I made a decision that what measures I should adopt in implementing this plan (Greenbaum, 2008). What is the main purpose of this plan, who is the target audience? I have also decided that what should be the main goal and time duration of this plan. Thus, plan formulation was the first step which I adopted in this planning process.

Plan Implementation

After deciding the main purpose and target audience of this plan, the second step which I adopted is plan implementation. In the first step of plan formulation, I have already decided that what should be the main resources to implement this plan. I have already decided that what should be the suitable time to implement this plan (Greenbaum, 2003). Therefore, at the best decided time I implemented this plan in the community.
