Introduction

Interpersonal communication is the human activity by which a subject expresses promoter contents of consciousness through a form perceptible by the senses, to a recipient, in order that they have access to that same content of consciousness, so that content become common to both intentionally or intentionally. Interpersonal communication is the most important form of communication for humans. Since we started it when we were very small, as one of the first relationships we build is affective (caregivers) and even at the beginning of our lives we have a structured language (McLean, 2010). Nonverbal communication allows us to establish these first relationships of interpersonal type. Recounting our lives, we may find that the most important moments of our existence, from the most important decisions of our lives (even some that are not so much) revolve around dialogue and some personal influence.

Discussion

Interpersonal communication occurs between two people. Each person produces messages that are in response to messages that have been developed by the other or others involved in the conversation. The different forms of communication have different characteristics, different advantages and disadvantages and therefore are useful or useless depending on the objectives of those who use them. Nobody uses a television commercial to talk with a friend. When using social media, it is very difficult to know what has been the reaction or the effect of the message. Today there is a very clear difference between news media and interpersonal media (Thill & Bove´e, 2011).

Ways in Which Communication Takes Place

Information: information exchange is a change in any of the receiver's choice probabilities.

Instruction: The information exchange that produces a variation in the effectiveness of any of the courses of action of the receiver.

Motivation: information exchange is a change in any of the values or goals of the receiver to your choice.

It is very important to know the essentials of good interpersonal communication. Here the first intention is what the sender wants the receiver to know. The sender is the person who is communicating something, the code is the way he says (words, gestures etc.) It is what the message says, what the receiver understands about the message, the receiver is the one receiving the message, and what intention does the receiver finally got.

This is very important because it gives an indication that some things are often misunderstood. From here, arise the idea of communication barriers.

Barriers to Interpersonal Communication

These are some of the most common barriers:

• Environmental

These are around us, are impersonal, and have a negative effect on communication, may be physical discomfort (heat in the room, an uncomfortable chair, etc.)

Visual distractions, interruptions, and noise are also part of environmental barriers. (Doorbell, telephone, someone coughing, construction noises.)

• Verbal

These are the way they talk; they get in the media, for example: people who talk too fast, or do not explain things well. People who speak another language barrier is obvious, but sometimes even our own language is incomprehensible, for ourselves, either ...
