What is the Internet?

Internet is a computer network consisting of set of global networks at national, regional and private level. The set uses the same protocol for communication: TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol). Internet offers three basic services:

Electronic mail (e-mail);

Web (pages with links and multimedia content of its Web sites);

Exchange files by FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

The Internet is also, and increasingly, in telephonic communication and the transmission of video and audio live (or streaming), that is to say in the manner of a television or a receiver radio. The goal of the Internet is expressed in one sentence: linking all computers in the world. Like the phone can chat with anyone whose number is known, the Internet is a global system of exchange of electronic documents: text, files, and images, audio and audiovisual sequences. It is the combination of computing and telecommunications.

What is the World Wide Web?The World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or W3, also known as the Web) is a system of hypertext documents which are accessed via the Internet through the help of a web browser. Individuals can view web pages that may contain text, images, video, and other multimedia and steer between them via clickable hyperlinks. The pages and the links form a worldwide web, hence the name WWW. To browse freely between web pages and aimlessly follow links known to surf the net. A collection of Web pages maintained by a particular organization or person called a website. The web pages are physically stored on computers throughout the world. A computer that provides web pages is called a Web server . Suitable software is freely available for most operating systems. Often manages a server of a website, but multiple sites can accumulate on a so-called web hosting (and larger sites can be managed by multiple computers). The network's basic structure formed by Web pages and Web sites, but the use of hyperlinks, URLs ("URL") can also refer to other resources. Web pages generally transferred to the special purpose vehicle developed communications protocol HTTP.

What is the relationship between the World Wide Web and the Internet?

The Internet is defined as a global computer network that allows users on different computers to communicate and share information. Although this definition of Internet global computer as an infrastructure is commonly accepted, it is nevertheless limited, since it takes into account that part of reality. Since 1995 in its resolution of 30 October, the Federal Networking Council (FNC), defines the Internet as a global information system. This system concept is much more accurate and can highlight three aspects that define Internet:

Infrastructure: This is the first concept addressed through the concept of global computer network.

Communication: Communication is established between two entities of the infrastructure respecting a certain number of constraints (existence of communication protocol), these protocols define how information is processed.

Uses: These are the possibilities to users by the existence of a communication; these uses or applications are numerous.
