Introduction

The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of our knowledge by exploring some relevant facts and figures relating to the issue of International water shortage due to the water crisis facing the world. The crisis in the management of resources is caused by the ways we use water. But the real tragedy is the impact of this crisis on the lives of the poor, who suffer from diseases linked to water, living in degraded and often dangerous environments, and struggling to educate their children, earn a living and food (Langwith, 2010). In the next section we will examine some important aspects and consequences of the water crisis in the world.

Discussion & Analysis

It is claimed that water issues will change over the next 25 years more than in the past 2000 years. Most of the predictions in the medium and long term projections show that water scarcity is an increasingly common problem, especially in developing countries. Moreover, the optimists hope that these predictions do not prove entirely accurate because significant technological availability and related water quality may occur in the coming decades. The truth is that even if the predictions about the growing scarcity may be pessimistic, the risk of occurrence of a serious water crisis continues to exist, as well as the degree of physical scarcity of the resource problems that arise sometimes not given the attention they deserve, such as inability to cope with the massive investments needed to improve quality and increase the availability of the resource (Glennon, 2009). There are two types of water scarcity: physical scarcity, when consumption exceeds availability and economic scarcity when you have enough water but there is no investment to store, extract and transport.
