In the context of an ethnocentric staffing policy, the key management positions are held by parent country nationals. There is a complete domination of parent country nationals in the context of an ethnocentric organization (Kang, & Shen, 2013).

There are certain global challenges in the implementation of ethnocentric staffing strategy. First of all, the promotion opportunities for home country nationals are minimized and they are ignored to a great extent.

Polycentric Staffing

The polycentric organization is dominated by the hiring of host country nationals in the context of international staffing. In the context of a polycentric organization, the host country nationals are hired at key management positions while the parent country nationals are required to work at the corporate headquarters of the company. There are some significant global challenges in the implementation of a polycentric staffing policy (Harvey, Fisher, McPhail, & Moeller, 2013).

Regiocentric Organization

Regiocentric staffing strategy as the name implies refers to organizations that focus on regional orientation. When organizations believe on sharing functions on a regional basis, they implement the regional staffing strategy (Harvey, Fisher, McPhail, & Moeller, 2013).

Disadvantages of Regiocentric Policy

Organizations are hampered to a great extent in pursuing a global framework when they implement the concept of Regiocentric staffing policy. There is a high presence of federalism at a regional level rather than implementing it on a country basis.
