Introduction

International organizations are at the centre of most of the discussions pertaining to history and global governance. Theorists, general public and politicians have consensus that the globalization requires certain processes to manage the proliferating complexity of cross-national interactions, and to cater that, international organizations are a better choice. Due to this realization, countries have established different international organizations to deal with diversified issues. International organizations, as a matter fact, manage the conflicts both on international as well as civil local level. However, besides resolving the conflict, international organizations also foster the economic growth and the notion of free trade, deal with environmental disasters and work actively to protect the fundamental rights of people (Ikenberry, 2009, pp.71-87).

International organizations employ different approaches to deal with these kinds of issues. Some of the organization have liberal approaches, while other utilize conservative approaches to cater the issues involved, both on local as well as international level. However, in this essay the strengths as well as weaknesses of the liberal approaches of international organizations would be discussed.

Strengths

Liberal approaches have helped a lot in fostering the concept of international organizations. As a matter of fact, the emphasis of neo-liberalism always remained on the institutions. The essence of neo-liberalism is to find a middle path for the resolution of the conflict. However, this coincides with the purpose of the international organizations, whose main purpose is to mediate any conflict arising among the states, by establishing the grounds of cooperation (de Haro, 2011, pp. 568-569).
