Globalization is increasing almost each day which requires the understanding of various cultures. Additionally effective leaders are required to deal with the challenges of various cultures through their incredible multi tasking. The leaders with strong organizational skills who are efficient with coordinating and communicating information, using human resource in best possible way and implementing the capital budget at the most suitable places. It is essential for a leader to fulfill the requirements of his subordinates effectively so that they can work with satisfaction under his leadership (Mendenhall, et.al, 2012). Dealing with a new culture requires problem solving skills too which might help them in adapting the new culture.
Global leaders should be creative regarding the new cultures he would face regularly. This would help them in solving the issues and identifying the uncertainties clearly. A global leader also needs to have a social understanding regarding the ethics and corporate social responsibilities of the new culture in order to lead their subordinates with integrity and civil responsibilities (Mendenhall, et.al, 2012). Cultural knowledge is important to survive in a new culture with respect and integrity. It is the responsibility of the leader to train his subordinates, if any are going to visit the new country with him. Being a global leader one should ensure to respect others culture too.
Organizational awareness: a leader should be well aware regarding the culture of the organization he would be working in, or he would be in contact with for any business deal. The normal organizational culture might differ entirely depending on their own code of conduct and understandings. It is important for the leader to understand the organizational culture at the beginning in order to successful deal with global organizational cultures.
Cultural perspective: A leader should especially look at the perspective of the culture they would be entering in for he persuasion of the business. Leader should not only be focused on his own cultural perspectives and understandings but he should realize the other perspective too. Realizing the other cultural perspective would enabler the leader to work and deal as per their standards which would create flexibility amongst both the organizations.
Communication: it is amongst the most important competencies, moving globally makes the leader to speak the language which is understandable by the host country. Communication is the only process to exchange the ideas and words with each other. The leader should communicate through a mode or language which can easily be understood by the other member residing in the other culture
