Intelligence Policy Memorandum

The intelligence unit must keep its information in a safe and secure, which is restricted to allow only to individuals. The information security is essential to keep the privacy of the information which is stored and makes sure the safeguard of privacy rights of individual.

Introduction

Homeland Security is the expression used for the attempts a State build to keep its level of security and guarantee a terror-free and peaceful atmosphere in the state. The objective of the hoemland security is information gathering from the whole the globe and utilize that information for security of homeland. Previous to the creation of DHS the U.S had different techniques for collection of information of intelligence but they were not as sophisticated as the way that the CIA collects information. After the disaster of attack by the Japanese Airforce at Pearl Harbor it was apparent that a strong well organized group would need to be put together to gather intelligence information for United States national security .

The Office of the Coordinator of Information (COI) was created following the attack so that the United States would have a better way of gathering information on foreign intelligence. By 1942, the COI and the military's intelligence units were units were forced to work together more closely, and The COI was renamed the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). After world War Two in 1947 United States law makers saw the Soviet Union as a threat to national security. Congress passed the national security act and theory created internationally an informational unit of the government to gather and sort out information they called it the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
