Introduction

This paper intends to write a column for a local newspaper. The basic issue that this paper will deal with revolves around the investigation of the leading types of unintentional and intentional injuries that affect the youth ages ranging from one year to twenty four years. The paper will be written in the form of an educational article retrieving important statistics from the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. My reaction to the types of injuries that are the leading causes of death among youth will be provided in the paper. Also, my position will be stated about what I think is a greater threat to young people in our society from intentional injuries of unintentional injuries.

I thoroughly believe that the minimum age of providing driving licenses must be changed so that a vast decrease in the number of unintentional deaths through traffic accidents. I also suggest that the number of unintentional deaths could be thoroughly decreased if the young children are provided with extreme care and proper morals within their childhood (CDC, 2012).

The intentional injuries also reveal an alarming situation for the authorities of United States of America to be controlled. Poisoning, firearms and suicides have been certainly increasing within the United States of America. The basic reason behind this increase in intentional injuries in the young people ...
