Openness in communication leads to solving problem creatively
Introduction
Communication is a two-way process in which two or more people exchange information with a well defined purpose. Purpose can be providing or getting information, answering to someone's question or solving problem. In this paper, we will focus on finding the impact of openness in communication on solving problem creatively. Basically, openness in communication invites people with genuine suggestion or ideas, people to speak with no fear and it also mean to increase the number of people to be communicated with. Therefore, by communicating in more open environment we improve the quality of suggestions that are required in solving problem. There are two types of communication that includes verbal and non-verbal communication. Verbal communication means when information is transfer through voice or sound and non-verbal communication means usage of symbol or pictures to transfer the message. In this paper, we will use research papers, experiments and theories of different researchers or scientist to unfold the hidden factors that assist in solving problem creatively. Here, we will describe that is creativity linked with openness of communication?
Background Information
There are many organizational researchers and theoreticians that have worked rigorously on this topic. According to EISENBERG (1987) and WITTEN (1987), openness of communication played a significant role in unfolding the hidden facts or factors that have much influence on problems. In other words we can say that any problem that arises is the result of single or multiple unincorporated facts or factors. So to solve the problem creatively, we have to take the relevant participant in confidence so they could openly share their views, ideas and issues and by incorporating that information we can solve that problem creatively. They also have stated that the merits of open communication are accepted widely by researchers because of evidence and experiments. Harvard researchers also come to the same conclusion that openness in communication brings fruit for organization. MAYO (1945) argued that the first step in conducting effective surveys within the organization is to persuade employees to reveal their feeling related to task and bosses. This has really helped management to discover the true needs of employees and true reason behind the face of problem. MAYO has also included the frequency of meetings between management and employees in openness of communication as it improve the employee's confidence level on its management which would eventually result in solving problem creatively. Mankind used to have certain problems in social life that includes public gathering and personal life (parents, spouse, and children). As expressed by Linnet McMahon and Adrian Ward, (1998) that by giving space and time to our respective social circle we can make it better. Especially problems at home and between the couple, need more and open communication to solve problem creatively. Having open communication with your partner leads to identify the real issue rather than just supposing that everything is fine or problems are same as they look.
