Introduction

The over growing population require large amount of resources and facilities. When the population are not give the required facilities and resources, the law and order situations of the cities or the states gets disturb and this becomes challenging situation for the authorities of the cities to maintain the system balanced. In order to manage the systems of state, the authorities are required to develop effectual and effective strategies and approaches so as to manage the funds and resources effectively and efficiently.

The population in the North Eastern United States is increasing with rapid rate. The great number of funds is required to make the developments in the region so that the growing population can enjoy the benefits out of it. The following section aims at discussing in detail about the critical infrastructure and key resources so that the Department of Homeland Security can provide the adequate level of funds that can be used for the development of the region. The funding that will be received will be helpful in protecting the critical infrastructures and the key resources (CIKR) in the region. The following section aims at giving the brief over view of the infrastructures and the key resources (CIKR) in the region to the Department of Homeland Security. This will provide us the clear picture of the overall scenario of the region where the population is growing to the great rate.

Discussion

As the population increases, the needs and the requirements of the basic facilities increases in the societies. The basic issues that are increased with the increase in the population involve the water issues, the infrastructure issues, the communications issues, the energy issues as well as the issues of the emergency services. The following is the brief report of the critical infrastructures and the key resources (CIKR) in the North Eastern region of United States.

The disturbance in the infrastructure and the resources systems gives rise to the terrorism and the criminal acts in the societies and the prevention of these systems and resources and the adequate use of it prevent the societies from being involved in the terrorism and criminal activities. The threat of terrorism is increasing in all around the globe. During the 1990s the threat of terrorism has further increased. The increasing threats of terrorisms have led the government of the United States to give strong consideration towards the infrastructure issues. The past years have shown that the United States has remained the victim of the terrorist activities which shows that there are certain inefficiencies in the infrastructures and the resources allocation systems. The government of United States, particularly the government of the North Eastern region of United States requires careful consideration and effective measures and steps to bring improvements in the region. The most significant importance is now being given to the infrastructure and resources protections.
