Introduction
Technology's role cannot be avoided form the development of any business as today's rapidly changing technological advancements have given leverage to businesses as well as made things easier to individuals or consumers. It can be seen that businesses in the present age function in a systematic manner and grow with the aid of advanced technology. Most of the businesses are structured into various departments that manage their functions and activities in a systematic flow. The management in most of the organisations has undergone profound changes by absorbing the various technologies and IS applications such as Just-in-Time, Geographical Information System, Total Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management and Enterprise Resource Planning (Manzoor, 2012).
Now it is high time, that the businesses are shifting their production, operations and supervision procedures to the implications of information technology. There is no doubt about the fact that emergence of new technologies has opened new doors of opportunities and doing business in a radically different way (Manzoor, 2012). This suggests that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has proved to be a vital resource to create business value (Kohli & Devaraj, 2004). It would be fair to say that Information Systems has the capability to renovate the nature of products, processes, companies, industries, and even competitive environment of the industry (Porter & Millar, 1985). In fact, Information Systems can be seen as major source to provide strategic tools to any organisation (Buhails, 2004).
