Infection Control

Introduction

For our reference, we have chosen two quantitative peer-reviewed articles on the topic 'infection control'. One of the articles is 'Effectiveness of comprehensive implementation of individualized bundling infection control measures for prevention of health care-associated infections in general medical wards'. This article was published in 2011 in the American Journal of Infection Control and written by Montri et.al. The other article is titled 'Nosocomial Infections in a Children's Hospital in Argentina: Impact of Unique Infection Control Intervention Program'. This was written by Angela et.al and published in 2001 in the journal Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology.

The study also meant to determine the lowest percentage of HAIs in general medical wards. More research and solutions need to be introduced in trying to reduce HAIs in patients. Recently, studies have also been taken by Aboelala et.al to discuss this issue. Although, their findings were also helpful in finding new solutions, Monti et.al tried to conduct their own research on this issue. As far as the method of study is concerned, Montri et.al conducted their study in two different classes of wards, general wards and intervention wards. 4 wards of each class were used, and the patients who were present in control wards were in constant examination and ...
