Abstract

Blood borne infection is the most dangerous condition that is associated with a number of critical factors. Several standards and guidelines have been made to limit the extent of infection during the process of hemodialysis. The ratio of blood borne infections is increasing because of the ignorance the standards and policies. Proper hand hygiene and use of PPE are associated with the decreased risk of infection. Use of effectiveness measure will be beneficial for the patient and health care staff regarding their health issues.

Introduction

Infection refers to the invasion of a harmful organism into a body of host, multiplication, and the process of host against these organisms. Moreover, infection can be also defined as the invasion and multiplication of hazardous organisms in a tissue of the body, which leads the tissue towards injury and toxic mechanisms. Infectious agents, such as viroids, viruses, microorganisms, nematodes, arthropods, mites, fungi, macro-parasites, or parasites, are responsible for the aggregation of the infection. Immune system of the host has enough potential to deal with these organisms, and this reaction will result in the developing infection. The immune system gives complete concentration towards the infection, which begins the process of inflammation. The process of inflammation is responsible to limit the power of infectious agents and infection. Medicines and certain drugs are used to enhance the capability of the immune system for adaptive responses.

Infection control is extremely necessary because enhanced infection will make the situation more complex. It was evaluated that a number of critical conditions are associated with the uncured infection. Moreover, untreated infection will result in the necrosis of the tissues. Infection control is considered as a broad discipline that focuses on the standards and recommendations for the prevention of infection. The departments of infection control or health care team responsible for infection control are responsible to give appropriate suggestions and evidence based recommendations against the extent of infection. Moreover, they are also responsible to tell about the effective measures and processes that will be useful for infection control. Processes of cleansing, disinfection, and sterilization is extremely necessary to ensure complete safety regarding the infection. Health care staff should give proper attention towards the infection control in the dialysis unit. It was evaluated that various practices are associated with the exposure of blood borne pathogens. Infection control department and higher authorities have suggested certain rules and regulations that will result in the maintenance of safety and security. There are certain occupational health strategies, which are widely using for the prevention of infection from blood borne pathogens.
